The first step in addressing a substance use disorder with a loved one is identifying how the family has been revolving around the substance user and removing themselves from that dynamic. 

This is my go-to presentation for helping families move from a "dysfunctional" family system to a "recovering" family system. In my next two posts we'll take a closer look at setting healthy boundaries and the family's role and responsibility when it comes to intervention.
